When a hurricane is still offshore, an electric utility has to decide where to stage crews — days before anyone knows where it lands. Stormward answers the questions that decision turns on: which utilities are in the path, how many customers go dark, how long restoration takes, what it costs, and how many crews are short.
It runs a physics-based wind field and calibrated fragility model over live storm data, and publishes its own accuracy against the federal outage record — including the storms it gets wrong.
The storm board tracks the active Atlantic system, with the grid underneath it. The wildfire board answers the other half of the question — which grid assets are standing inside an active fire perimeter right now, and where the next ignition is most likely. The atmospheric-river board puts the grid under a landfalling AR event. The flash-flood board shows which yards are standing inside a live flash flood warning, how the radar rainfall reads against official guidance at each one, and what return to service looks like if water reaches the control house. The crew-safety board turns the same weather on the people sent out to work on the grid: where a crew cannot do the work it is scheduled to do today, when the window closes, and what the published rule says to do instead.
